Spice Design’s invitations are hand made with meticulous care and attention. Our production staff are selected from previously disadvantaged communities in South Africa and rigorously trained to create wedding stationery with care and attention. It is our vision to create employment in South Africa for people who would otherwise find this difficult.

Over the past 10 years our designer, Amanda Hall, has lived and worked in the design capitals of the world – London and New York, her international clients include Nokia, BP and Unilever to name but a few.

In 2003 Amanda set a theme and created wedding invitations for one of her dearest friends, Michelle Petrino. Spice Design was borne out of this rewarding experience. It signals a return to her roots in both design – reminding her of her love of paper and natural beauty, and in a physical sense – her return to her hometown, Cape Town. With this rekindled passion, and dedication to design, Amanda founded Spice Design to offer people – local and international - other than friends wedding stationery with a commitment to exquisite beauty and unrivaled quality.

During our first discussion, whether by phone, email, or in person, we will learn about your desires for your wedding and invitations. You may want to share ideas with us that express what you want to create — for example a season, a color scheme, or even a particular flower. This is very much an expression of you as a couple and we always bear this in mind when designing your invitations.

Your invitation is the first glimpse your guests will have of the special wedding day you are preparing. A unique wedding invitation, created with you in mind, lets everyone you care about know just how wonderful your day will be. Each handcrafted wedding invitation we create is a reflection of the couple that inspires it. We can also create all other elements to co-ordinate with your invitations ensuring that you have a consistent theme throughout your wedding.
